The Role of the PWCI Mentor:

The desire for the program is for you not to have all the answers but be a resource for your Mentee. You should be open to discussions that assist your Mentee in navigating through professional roadblocks or gain insight on how to continue their professional development.

Ideal Characteristics:
An active listener
Ability to build supportive relationships
Emotional intelligence
Actively shares knowledge and wisdom
Open and honest communicator
Provides advice without judgment or specificity of action
Able to commit time to Mentee
Willing to challenge Mentee

Responsibilities:

Keep commitments
Advocate the mentoring program through actions
Dedicate time to the program and remain accessible
Provide feedback to the Mentee that will help facilitate growth
Remain unbiased and maintain confidentiality
Set clear expectations for your relationship with your Mentee
Establish goals and set quality gates
